A SCOTTISH WEDDING DAY

People often wonder what the wedding photographer will be doing for most of the day at their wedding. Most couples do not want their day to be one big long photoshoot. They want to relax and enjoy their day but still ensuring all the key moments are captured.

Every wedding is a one of a kind celebration of love, bringing together different stories and moments into one special day, therefore timelines vary for everyone but below I will run through a typical(ish) day.

A wedding day in Scotland might start with me arriving at your getting-ready location usually about two hours before you plan to leave for your ceremony. This gives me enough time to capture all the buzz of the final preperations.

If you and your partner are getting ready in separate locations, hiring a second shooter is an option to ensure both sides of the story are documented.

From there, it's off to the ceremony where I capture all the excitement and anticipation of your waiting guests, you arriving, and the ceremony of course — photographing every moment.

After the ceremony, I will guide you through group portraits while everyone is still gathered, making sure we capture those essential shots efficiently.

Then comes one of the highlights of the day—your couple’s portraits. Whether we explore the stunning Scottish landscapes or find a lovely spot near your venue, this session is nice and relaxed with no awkward or cheesy posing it is just about the pair of you enjoying some alone time while I create timeless, beautiful images. All this without keeping you away from your guests for too long.

We then get you back to your guests to enjoy your drinks reception while i continue to candidly document your reception, from heartfelt speeches and cake cutting to your first dance and the lively celebrations that follow. If the sunset is just right, I’ll steal you away for a quick, breathtaking golden-hour portrait — a signature shot that adds a cinematic touch to your gallery.

Every wedding is unique, and I adapt seamlessly to fit into your timeline. I shoot most of the day candidly blending in with your guests ensuring that your photography experience is stress-free as well as tailored to your vision. Whether you're planning an intimate elopement by Loch Lommond or a grand celebration in Edinburgh, I’d love to tell the story of your day!

How it Works

Step 01

Getting in touch

To start the process, simply fill out the contact form on my website and let me know the date of your wedding. I'll check my availability and get back to you as soon as possible. We can then arrange a chat to discuss your plans for the big day and answer any questions you may have. You can choose to meet over Zoom or come visit me in my garden office if you're in the area. Once you've selected your ideal package, I'll get you booked in and we can start planning the details of your wedding photography.

Step 02

Engagement Shoot

Engagement shoots are usually done a few months before the wedding to help us get to know each other and for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera. We can capture candid photos that reflect your personalities and relationship at a meaningful location. These photos can be used for save the date cards or displayed at your wedding. Engagement shoots are great for easing the nerves of anyone a little anxious about being photographed. It will put you at ease and you will enjoy your wedding so much more.

Step 03

Wedding Day

I will capture all the details and special moments of your wedding day, using a discreet and unobtrusive shooting style. I will work with you to ensure we get all the shots that are important to you, and coordinate with other vendors and the venue to make sure everything runs smoothly. My goal is to provide beautiful, timeless photos and video that capture the emotion and joy of your wedding day, so you can relax and enjoy every moment.

Step 04

Memories to treasure

Once your wedding photos and videos have been beautifully edited, They will be delivered in your own private online album. The album is easy to navigate and you'll be able to view, share, print, and download your film and photos as you please. You'll also be able to order prints, create your wedding album and other products directly from the online album. The online album can be stored as an app on your phone for ease of showing and sharing your wonderful day.
